Planting & Care

1. Planting: For your Micron® Holly, simply select a location with well-drained soil and 4 to 8 hours of sunlight per day. After selecting your area, dig a hole that’s one and a half times the width of your shrub’s root ball. Then, place the shrub before backfilling the soil and watering to settle its roots. Mulching after planting is beneficial to preserve the Holly’s moisture.

2. Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season, about once per week or when your evergreen’s surrounding soil is dry. Check for soil dryness about 2 to 3 inches down. If the soil is dry, it’s time to water. However, once the plant is established, the watering frequency may be reduced, depending on your soil’s needs.

3. Fertilizing: Feed your plant in early spring and again in early fall with an all-purpose fertilizer.

4. Pruning: Prune as needed for your desired shape.
