Clumping, Shade-Tolerant & Cold Hardy Bamboo

Why Rufa Bamboo Plants?

Also known as non-running bamboo or clumping bamboo, the Rufa is a fast-growing, shade-tolerant and hardy variety that's unlike any other. Its bluish-green new culms are contrasted by rusty red sheaths, giving your yard a pop of unique color and elevating almost any area, from driveway borders to natural privacy fences and beyond.

Even better? It's non-aggressive and non-invasive. Because the Rufa is a dense, slowly-creeping Bamboo, you won't have to worry about it taking over your yard. You'll get vibrant evergreen foliage that thrives and upgrades your yard without effort.

Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better

We grow your Rufa Bamboo Plant in its own container from the very beginning, so you'll get a full, healthy root system that establishes quickly and explodes with new growth. And more roots mean more canes that are healthy, thick and vigorous.

Plus, you won't find the Rufa anywhere else...and if you do find it at big-box, it's often only available bare-root. But when you order your Rufa Bamboo from Fast Growing Trees, you get a fast, easy grower that's ready to thrive year over year.

As this unique bamboo grows in popularity, we will quickly run low on quantity, so be sure to order yours now. Don't wait - get your Rufa Bamboo today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Rufa Bamboo in an area that's protected from high winds and receives full to partial sunlight.

Sunset Glow Bamboo will adapt to your natural soil even if it's sandy or heavy in clay as long as it's well-draining. When you're ready to plant, dig your hole large enough to accommodate your Rufa's root ball, place your plant and backfill the soil.

2. Watering: Depending on your climate, you'll want to water your Rufa Bamboo a couple of times a week. If you get at least one inch of rainfall weekly, you shouldn't have to water as often.

If you're unsure when to water, simply check your Rufa's soil about 3 inches down for dryness.
